We can strive to have our minds, bodies and spirits in alignment, but this state of wholeness can be very elusive.
I think about a loved one who has deteriorated in all three areas, and it makes me realize the importance of a good attitude. gratitude and being resilient.
I think about my body breaking down and know it will be a challenge for me to stay positive when this day approaches because I have always been an active person. That is why the mind and spirit are so important to nourish. Whether it's art, music, dance, writing, cooking, learning something new or volunteering that makes our hearts sing, we all must have something in which we feel a connection or purpose.
Taking care of ourselves is not selfish. If we don't put good food in our bodies, move our bodies, stretch our minds and let our spirits soar, we can't truly give freely and care for others.
Get a massage, go for a hike, take a personal development class, get coached, meditate, go dancing or to a concert.
Balance is the key. I'm not saying don't eat the donut or binge on a Netflix program once in awhile, but become aware of where you are out of balance. Awareness is always the first step to change and wholeness.
What is one new thing you can do starting today to nourish your mind, body or spirit?
